Daniel Uphaus

Daniel Uphaus

Daniel Uphaus studied a year in Tanzania and is fluent in Kiswahili. He is the primary coordinator of African Solar Rise.

Alexander M. Schwarz

Alexander M. Schwarz

Alexander M. Schwarz has intensified his extensive knowledge in the fields of renewable energies, industrial agriculture and fossil energies (oil & gas) due to his work at the German-African Business Association. As Country Manager Tanzania he is going to advice and support Tanzanian farmers how to increase their profits by implementing renewable energy.

Dorcas Parsalaw

Dorcas Parsalaw

Dorcas Parsalaw is a lawyer in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She is fluent in German, English and Kiswahili and is consulting African Solar Rise regarding the Tanzanian legal framework.

„An ecologically and economically reasonable energy supply must be decentralised in my country. Renewable energies will give us the possibility to use our resources to their maximum.”

Andreas Bergmann

Andreas Bergmann

Andreas Bergmann has already gained profound knowledge in the area of social projects due to his engagement in other similar ventures. Within his studies of Business Administration at the University of Regensburg he could realize studies abroad in USA and Canada. He supports the team of ASR particularly in the field of Marketing.

Ruth Hütte

Ruth Hütte

Ruth Hütte learned Kiswahili during her stay in Tanzania in 2014. She is now responsible to prepare and train the volunteers for their mission in Africa.

Strategy and cooperation with universities

Maxim Leer

Maxim Leer

Maxim Leer is getting his master’s degree in business management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). Because of both, visits abroad in the US, Russia and Africa during his bachelor studies, and working experiences in the financial industry and consulting he gained extensive knowledge in these fields. He coordinates the cooperations with Europe's leading universities.

Natascha Proeschel

Natascha Pröschel

Through several stays abroad in Canada and Mexico Natascha Pröschel quickly realised that she wanted to become active in the field of social work with a focus on sustainability. Keeping this in mind she completed her Bachelor of Business Administration and is now handling finances and fundraising at African Solar Rise.

Dhruv Kar

Dhruv Kar

Dhruv Kar formerly worked at the Solar Living Institute in California, ran a small solar panel trading company, and worked in China in the manufacturing sector. He's passionate about solar energy and its potential to empower developing nations. As the Director of Operations, he represents ASR in the US.
